Hey, everyone! Let me just say how good it feels to be back on here sharing a blog post! SHEW, things have been so busy and I know they’re only going to get busier but I’m so excited for this next adventure I’m taking with my mom. If you’re like “uhh girl what are you talking about?” let me catch you up. I’m opening an online boutique with my mom called Stevie Rae Boutique. We will officially launch on October 7, 2018. If you want to know more about our story you can look at this post.
With all of that being said, I started thinking about my journey for my career(s) when someone asked me the other day “where do you see yourself in 5 years?” You guys, that list is so long because there’s so much I want to accomplish! I’m a very multi passionate person and THAT’S OKAY! At first I had a hard time scheduling everything so I wanted to share with you 3 ways that I manage my passions while staying consistent on following my dreams.
First, buy a planner that is small enough to fit in your purse and USE IT! I feel like until this year I would buy planners because they were cute but I never actually used them. We’ve all been there, don’t lie! Now, I write everything down. Dr. appointments, days off, in salon education, photoshoots for Stevie Rae…you get the point. Writing things down for me is key because it’s like setting that plan in stone! If planners have never been your thing use your calendar in your phone. Just set the plan!
Second, use a social media planner. My personal favorite is UNUM because it’s free and I can toggle back-and-forth between Stevie Rae and Ksmithbeauty. Using a social media app allows me to batch my work, meaning I plan all my posts out for the week every single Sunday. Now, there have been times where I take a break from social media/blogging and that’s okay too. Sometimes ya just need a break or you need to focus on one thing for a little while. The important thing is you don’t give up. Another great thing about using a social media app is it allows you to see the layout of your feed. What looks good, what doesn’t. We all love an aesthetically pleasing grid!!
Last but not least, a vision board. You can do one on Pinterest or you can do one on poster board. A vision board is so important because it’s like a road map for what you want to accomplish and the goals you’re setting for yourself. Dream big but also put the small steps you need to take. Lay everything out so you can see it! Having a vision board has personally helped me because it lights a fire inside of me. I look at mine every night before bed and it makes me so pumped to get up the next morning and start grinding away at work.
Being multi passionate is so great but without a plan, it can sometimes lead you to run in circles. Try these three easy steps and let me know how they work for you! Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do what you want! Follow your dreams, you guys. It’s so worth it!!
